Who you bring in when it has to land.

Studios don't fail because they're short on talent. They fail because the right leadership isn't there at the right moment. Fieldwork Games provides fractional executive production at the points that matter most, from someone who's actually shipped it, not just signed off on it.

How do we work together

The usual path

A

Initial Consultation

A free 30 minute consultation to talk about your studio and project and the challenges you're facing. If it's a good fit for Fieldwork we can recommend a good starting point and take things from there.

B

Fixed Term Engagements

A specific, defined engagement. Scoped and costed upfront, delivered once, and done. Can lead into a retained relationship, but this initially isn't one.

A few examples of what that can look like.

—Studio and project health read. Schedule, team structure, scope, game quality, leadership gaps
—Potential publisher or investor due diligence. Can this studio actually ship what it's promising, on the timeline and with the leadership bench it claims
—Pitch audit. Refining and stress testing pitch materials and associated artefacts (demo, schedule etc.) ahead of a specific set of publisher meetings
—Milestone and gate review. A lighter, single point check at a specific project milestone
—Targeted Fix. Not a diagnosis, an execution. You know what's wrong, this is a fixed scope engagement to actually fix it
C

Fractional Executive Production

Embedded, hands on EP leadership, sized to what the studio actually needs, when they need it. Retained on a regular cadence, for as long as the project, or a specific phase of it, needs the oversight.

A few examples of what that can look like.

—Overall production ownership. Budget, schedule, risk and quality, finding where things are off track and driving through to a fix
—Greenlight support. Retained for a set period to get through a phase completion or a publishing greenlight approval smoothly
—Publisher and developer relationship. Keeping publisher and developer aligned on vision, budget and timeline, catching gaps before they turn into conflict
—Publishing executive production. Leading a project or portfolio, and building the publishing function where it's needed, team, milestone process, greenlight process

When a project needs a specific skill outside mine, I draw on a trusted network of specialists to get you exactly what's needed.

Why Fieldwork

25+ years working across publishing and development, building and leading teams rather than just overseeing them from a distance. Fieldwork exists to bring that experience directly into studios and projects when it matters most, stepping in, doing the work, then stepping back out again.
